For those of you who went to NAB 2024, you were among the 61,000+ attendees who got to experience the electric atmosphere of this year’s show.
It will come as no surprise that AI was the topic at the front of everyone’s thoughts. From AI-assisted features to help speed you through previously laborious manual tasks to generative AI that helps you achieve your creative vision more efficiently, there’s a lot to talk about. So for those who couldn’t make it to the show, our most recent Frame.io LIVE session catches you up on what you missed—and provides a succinct review if you want a digestible summary, even if you attended.
A brief overview
Joining our host, Shawn McDaniel, was a power trio of Adobe experts who were at NAB to chat with customers and exhibitors alike. Meagan Keane, Director, Product Marketing Pro Video; Kylee Peña, Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Professional Editorial; and Morgan Prygrocki, Sr. Strategic Developer Manager, Enterprise Offerings walked the floor so you can enjoy this roundup with your feet up, if you like. All three have held various hands-on industry positions from editing to virtual production, so they bring a wealth of practical experience along with their insights into our product development.
Their lively discussion covered topics ranging from the differences between generative AI and AI as a process enabler (“No one will miss rotoscoping by hand,” says Morgan) to how generative AI tools will open the doors to more, and more diverse, storytellers.

The group also discusses new immersive viewing experiences (the MSG Sphere was the belle of the ball, apparently) and how AI can solve problems in virtual production.
Finally, they demo some of the new and upcoming AI-assisted features in Premiere Pro, including those that simplify audio editing, as well as the ability to extend scenes in videos, remove objects, and access AI-generated imagery from Firefly, PikaLabs, OpenAI, and Runway.
