At Frame.io, we’re always listening to customer feedback and evolving our product to better serve creative teams. This year at NAB we’re introducing a suite of powerful new features designed to help you create, collaborate, and deliver faster. First, we’re dramatically increasing storage that scales with your team so you can keep and manage everything—from scripts and treatments to final exports—in one place. New tools like transcription (beta), text markup, and enhanced security controls help streamline your workflow even further. Visit our booth at NAB 2025 to see these new features in action and discover what else we’ve been working on. Learn more here.
More space to create, collaborate, and deliver
Since launching Frame.io Version 4, we’ve heard you loud and clear: you love the powerful collaboration tools of Frame.io, but storage limitations have forced you to keep many of your files elsewhere. Having to hop between cloud providers is more than frustrating—it’s killing your creative momentum.
Today, that all changes. We’re expanding storage across all Pro, Team, and Enterprise V4 plans—at no additional cost. Frame.io storage now grows as your team grows. And with storage capacity expanded you can finally bring everything together into one powerful platform purpose-built for creative work.
Storage that scales with your team:
- Pro plans: 2 TB for the first user + 2 TB for each additional user.
- Team plans: 3 TB for the first user + 2 TB for each additional user.
- Enterprise plans: Custom. Please reach out to your account rep for details.
- Storage is pooled across your account and increases and decreases with user count. Rolling out to eligible V4 paid plans starting today.
Transcription and text markup keep work and collaboration flowing from script to screen
The real power of Frame.io isn’t just in storing your files—it’s about creating a seamless workflow from concept to delivery. With this release, we’re extending that power to even more aspects of production.
Find your perfect soundbite with transcription—now in beta
How much time have you or your stakeholders spent scrubbing through footage to find that one perfect soundbite? Too much, probably. Our new transcription feature (now in beta) lets you generate accurate, searchable transcripts of your video and audio files. You can search for specific terms, click on any word to jump to that exact moment in your timeline, and even export transcripts as SRT and VTT files.
We’ve also added features like automated closed captions to make your content more accessible for collaborators who are deaf or hard of hearing—and to simplify the process of creating subtitles for final deliverables. Built for creatives, shaped by your feedback—try the beta and tell us what you think.
Transcription (beta) highlights:
- Generate transcripts for audio and video assets.
- Search for specific text to find key moments or navigate by clicking any word in the transcript to jump to that spot in the timeline.
- Select text in the transcript to create range-based comments for precise feedback.
- Automated closed captions available on both Web and iOS platforms.
- Bulk processing—select multiple assets in the Finder grid and generate transcripts for all at once.
- Export transcripts in industry-standard caption formats (SRT & VTT).
- Support for 18 languages.
Collaborate on scripts, treatments, briefs and more with text markup tools
Creative work isn’t just visual—it starts with the words that shape what gets made: treatments, scripts, briefs, budgets, and more. Now, with expanded markup tools built for document collaboration, you can review and comment on written content directly in Frame.io—alongside your media assets. It’s a more cohesive way to keep creatives and stakeholders aligned at every stage of creation.
Text markup tool highlights:
- Select text in any document to add comments or draw attention to specific text.
- Search within documents to quickly find key information.
- Add “Suggest Edits” to your document with four powerful markup options, including—
- Highlight text to add suggested edits as comments.
- Insert new text at specific points.
- Delete the text you want removed.
- Replace text with alternative wording.
- Export comments to maintain feedback context. Text markups will be included in Print and other comment export formats.
Powerful security and control enhancements
Whether you’re an independent photographer or a major studio, protecting work-in-progress content is critical. That’s why we’re extending our security and control features across more plan types.
Static watermarking—now available across Pro, Team, and Enterprise
Static watermarking lets you protect your content with custom text watermarks on videos, images, and documents. Previously available only for Enterprise accounts, Pro and Team plans in V4 can now create and apply one watermark template. Now, more Frame.io users can quickly create custom watermarks to track content and help prevent leaks.
Static watermarking highlights:
- Apply frame-by-frame and page-by-page custom text watermarks to videos, images, and documents.
- Choose the exact position, rotation, and orientation of your watermark on any asset.
- Update your watermark at any time—no lock in at upload.
- Pro and Team plans include 1 template. Enterprise plans include unlimited templates.
Restricted Folders: More controls to keep your project secure coming soon
Restricted Folders (coming soon) let you control who sees what. Set custom permissions for viewing, commenting, or editing—so only the right people access sensitive folders. Keep everything organized, secure, and all within the same project.
Restricted Folders highlights:
- Create folders within projects that are accessible only to specific project members.
- Add or remove individual users’ access to restricted folders as project needs change.
- Define granular permission levels (view, comment, edit, etc.) for each user within restricted folders.
- Maintain security hierarchy—only Owners, Admins, and users with Full Access permissions can create restricted folders.
- Available for eligible Team and Enterprise accounts starting later this month.
Access Groups (beta)
Access Groups (now in beta) help you automate access control across Workspaces and Projects by managing user membership within groups. When someone’s responsibilities change, update their group membership once, and their access updates everywhere automatically. Depending on the size of your team, Access Groups (beta) can reduce hours of permissions management to just a few minutes.
Access Groups (beta) highlights:
- Automate access management across multiple Workspaces and Projects to dramatically reduce time spent managing users.
- Adding or removing users from a group instantly updates access everywhere. Changes propagate automatically—no need to manually update each project.
- Not available for Reviewer and Guest roles.
- Available for Enterprise accounts.
Apple TV app, share branding defaults, and more
V4 is out, and we’re just getting started. Here’s what dropped last month:

Now playing on Apple TV
The Frame.io V4 Apple TV app is now free for all plans. Review your work in stunning 4K HDR—great for client sessions or team reviews.
