This month, we opened up the latest version of Frame.io in powerful new ways, making it easier for everyone—from creatives to developers—to connect their workflows, automate the tedious stuff, and move faster from creative idea to delivery.
We’ve also made navigation smoother, folder uploads smarter, PDF previews sharper, mobile playback faster, and added transcript editing to polish your content in place.
And with APIs now available in Early Access to all Frame.io Version 4 users, the latest version of Frame.io is ready to integrate, scale, and adapt to the way you work.
It’s all part of expanding V4’s capabilities as a platform that fits into your creative workflow—not just a tool, but the connective layer between what you create and where it goes.
Here’s what we shipped in May.
Frame.io Ecosystem and Integrations: Powering Creative Workflows Across APIs
Frame.io V4 APIs now available in Early Access
Frame.io’s V4 APIs are now in Early Access for all users—no Adobe Admin Console required. That means every Frame.io user can now connect their workspace to the tools they already use, automate repetitive tasks, and customize creative workflows across production, collaboration, and delivery.
With self-service API access (coming soon) and refreshed developer documentation, teams can start building right away.
Adobe Workfront Fusion Connector (beta)
We announced a Workfront Fusion Connector (beta) for Frame.io Version 4 that connects Adobe Workfront and Frame.io with a no-/low-code integration—offering a more efficient way for Adobe customers to create content at scale.
With the Fusion Connector’s 25+ pre-built actions, teams can now automatically create Frame.io projects from Workfront campaigns, sync asset status between Frame.io and Workfront tasks, and more.
Together, Frame.io and Workfront deliver a complete solution for faster, more compliant content—one that includes comprehensive work visibility, centralized collaboration, and connected review and approval workflows.
You’ll need a Workfront account with Fusion access to unlock this connectivity, so reach out to your Adobe contact to learn more.
The Camera to Cloud ecosystem expands
We’ve added several new partners and devices to the Camera to Cloud ecosystem:
- NanoLogger App: Ambient’s new iOS app enables real-time logging on set for precision timecode and metadata that syncs directly to mobile C2C workflows.
- New Lumix camera models (S1II and S1IIE) support native C2C uploads for photo and video, accelerating post-production access and feedback.
- Mavis: The Mavis Camera app for iOS delivers a seamless experience of capturing high-quality footage with your smartphone and uploading it directly to Frame.io for faster project turnarounds and centralized production management.

Transcript Editing and Enhancements
Now you can make direct inline edits to transcripts that are generated in Frame.io. Any changes automatically sync with your captions.
It’s perfect for fixing names, tightening phrasing, or polishing a script without leaving your workflow. Plus, new metadata fields show which assets have transcripts, making it easier to organize your content. You’ll also get notified when transcripts are ready. And new Share Builder controls give you the power to decide whether captions or transcripts appear when you share work externally.
Quality of Life Improvements You’ll Notice
Stay logged in for longer
Frequent logouts were a frustrating part of the experience—and we heard you. We’ve started to fix a few pesky bugs that will make login sessions stickier, so you won’t be repeatedly asked to log in throughout the day. We’re also actively improving the entire experience of navigating to Frame.io. More seamless access is coming soon.
Drag, drop, and maintain your folder hierarchy
Uploading and managing folder structures is now easier than ever. You can now drag and drop entire folders into the Folder Tree, and Frame.io will preserve the hierarchy automatically. We’ll even take you directly to the folder where you uploaded so you can keep working without losing context.
Let your Share recipients edit metadata fields
Now you can give your Share recipients the ability to edit visible metadata fields. Turn it on and watch them write notes, rate assets, change statuses, and interact with any field you provided—reducing extra back-and-forth communication.
Sharper, faster PDF previews
Frame.io now renders high-fidelity PDF proxies, delivering better load times, crisp logos, accurate colors, and full compatibility across devices—all while respecting PDF permissions and security settings.
Move faster with new keyboard shortcuts
We’ve added new keyboard shortcuts for those who prefer speed over clicks:
- Delete: Del
- Duplicate: ⌘ + D
- Download: Shift + G
- New Folder: Shift + N
Full control from your home screen
The Recent Projects section now supports full context menus, just like Project Cards. That means you can take action on projects right from your home screen—no extra navigation required.
Smarter, faster, and more stable on iOS
On mobile, we’ve packed in improvements that boost performance and usability on the go. In recent updates:
- CPU usage in the player has dropped by roughly 50%, making playback smoother and battery life longer.
- You can now view and restore deleted assets, helping recover work more easily.
- Projects, Shares, and Collections now open in new windows on iPad, enhancing multitasking.
- You can download both original files and generated proxies, giving you more flexibility in how you work offline.
- We’ve added Siri and Spotlight integration, accessibility support for Bold Text, and improved document viewing.
Plus, we squashed key bugs—like failed downloads and comment crashes—for a more stable mobile experience.
What’s Next
As creative teams grow and workflows evolve, we’re focused on making Frame.io more powerful, more connected, and more intuitive with every release. Whether you’re building custom integrations, streamlining feedback, or just trying to reduce extra clicks, these updates are designed to support the way you work—now and in the future.
If you’re not already on the latest version of Frame.io, there’s never been a better time to update. And if you’re new here, start using Frame.io for free to see how it can help your team move faster, stay aligned, and deliver your best work.
