See You at IBC 2024

So far, 2024 has been one of our biggest years for product announcements. We unveiled the all-new Frame.io V4 beta at NAB and welcomed Panasonic LUMIX to the Camera to Cloud family. Along with a number of other new product integrations and partnerships with Fujifilm and Atomos, C2C features including Real-Time Logging for video and a streamlined way to go from cameras directly to Adobe Lightroom continue to expand the functionality of Frame.io as a creative management platform that supports all creative workflows—from video to photography and beyond.

And now we’re excited to come to Amsterdam to share what we’ve been working on with our friends in Europe and beyond!

Frame.io V4

Frame.io V4 has been fully redesigned to be the fast and intuitive platform that helps creative teams and their stakeholders organize, review, and manage their work and assets.

The highlights: the redesigned Workspace gives you more flexibility over the way you view your projects and assets. A new metadata framework allows you to organize your media in customized ways, creating Collections that let you group your assets according to properties or tags you assign. The sharing workflow has been streamlined, commenting is more accurate, and uploading your media is now even faster.

The V4 beta has been enthusiastically embraced by individual users and small teams since April. And we’re thrilled to announce that V4 will be widely available for all customers later this year. Frame.io V4 gives creative teams of all sizes access to more powerful ways to organize, manage, and collaborate on their creative projects. V4 Enterprise has been designed to streamline end-to-end workflows for global organizations as the most secure and flexible version of Frame.io yet.

Camera to Cloud workflows

Camera to Frame.io to Adobe Lightroom

What we’ve learned from our customers who’ve tried Camera to Cloud for photography workflows is that every moment counts, whether it’s for sports, news, or live events. Now, Adobe makes going from camera to edit frictionless with a newly introduced Frame.io connection to Lightroom, currently in V4 beta.

By introducing a direct connection with Lightroom through Frame.io, photographers can now instantly access their images, edit them, and deliver them. There are no tethers required and no need to remove and download camera cards.

The Frame.io camera to Lightroom workflow, explained.

Connecting one of the many Camera to Cloud-enabled cameras to a Frame.io project is a simple process that takes seconds. Once the camera is connected, all that’s required is for the photographer or editor to click “Connect to Lightroom” within their Frame.io project, where they’ll be prompted to log in with their Adobe ID. Photographers can automatically send all images uploaded via C2C into their Lightroom account on desktop, mobile, and web.

Real-Time Logging

As our friends at Red Bull Media House have recently learned, Real-Time Logging (RTL) is perfect for accelerating workflows for live-event or unscripted coverage. RTL is enabled by connecting Ambient Master Lockit+ to a Frame.io project. The hand-held Ambient NanoLockit is pre-programmed with buttons to indicate certain comments; a push of the button as you’re capturing the action lets you send a heat map of timecode-accurate, customizable comments directly to your editor. For example, one button can indicate “great moment” while another might indicate “leave this out,” vastly reducing the time from camera capture to finished edit.

RTL is available for the current version of Frame.io today, with Frame.io V4 access coming later this year. If you’d like to try it out for yourself, be sure to schedule a meeting with us.

Camera to Cloud partnerships

Panasonic LUMIX

IBC 2024 marks the first time the Panasonic LUMIX in-camera integration with Frame.io will be demonstrated by our team in the EU. The Panasonic LUMIX S5II and S5IIX, known for their superb image stabilization and customizable frame markers, make them ideal for volume photography and social content creation—no extra hardware required. We’ll also have the new Panasonic LUMIX GH7, designed for exceptional hybrid photo and video capabilities. LUMIX cameras are perfect for wedding photographers and videographers, live-event coverage, and so much more.

Panasonic LUMIX S5II and S5IIX now feature C2C integration.

Fujifilm, RED, and Accsoon

As our existing partners continue to bring new products to market, we’re meeting them with cloud connectivity for each release. We’ll have the new camera from our partner Fujifilm with a native integration—the extremely popular X100VI, the fifth generation of Fujifilm cameras. Along with the latest RED Digital Cinema cameras and the Accsoon SeeMo 4K, there are now even more flexible and innovative ways to connect productions to post—and beyond.

Book a meeting

As always, the best part of going to IBC is to have the chance to meet with old friends and make new ones. We’ll be in Hall 7, Stand #7.B35 if you want to stop by for a chat or a demo of any of the products or workflows we’ve highlighted. Or, you can request a meeting so we can learn more about your particular needs. Either way, we can’t wait to see you there!
