Frame.io welcomes a new decade
As we look ahead to 2020, it’s worth taking a quick look back at what we accomplished in 2019, and how that’s helped us lay the building blocks for our next steps toward bringing you an even better product in the new decade—and beyond.
New names, new releases
At NAB 2019 we had our biggest presence yet, and rolled out some of our biggest features of the year. We announced our native integration into Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve 16, and introduced the Frame.io Developer Platform with Zapier Integration. At the same time, we made our API public, which means that we made it a whole lot easier for our users to customize and streamline their workflows to fit their precise needs.
We also implemented some features that we’d been eager to put out in order to boost our overall ease of use and functionality including:
- Multi-page PDF support
- Archival storage
- Reel player
- Short links
- Private comments
- Enhanced version management
Frame.io v3.5 debuted at IBC in Amsterdam, and we were thrilled to introduce range-based comments, advanced search, and the redesigned iOS 2.0 for iPhone as part of that rollout.
Last, but hardly least, we closed out the year on a high note, releasing one of our most-requested features, Frame.io for iPad.
New security updates and features
If you know anything about Frame.io, you know that we’re always raising the bar when it comes to security. In 2018, we achieved TPN and SOC 2 Type 1 compliance. In 2019, we went a step further by completing the rigorous SOC 2 Type 2 audit. These standards permeate the DNA of our company and are part of our continuing effort to maintain our status as the most secure platform for your pre-release content.
We didn’t do this to win awards—but we did. Frame.io has been selected by the International Data Group for 2020’s CSO50 awards, which recognize 50 organizations for security projects or initiatives that demonstrates outstanding business value and thought leadership. We also introduced new Frame.io secure-sharing features for our Enterprise customers in v3.5 to further help them control who has access to their projects and assets.
New faces, new places
Our team grew from 85 to 117 people in the last year, which meant that it was time for our office space to grow, too. We moved our HQ to downtown Manhattan, and as a housewarming gift we were named one of Crain’s 100 Best Places to Work in NYC.
On top of that, we welcomed Michael Cioni to the team as Global SVP of Innovation. He’ll head up our new LA office to better serve our motion picture and television clients in Hollywood.
New funding, new goals
You may have heard that we recently closed our Series C round of financing last month. This gives us the opportunity to work even harder and dream bolder. We measure our success by how much it helps your success. Here’s a few of our 2019 stats that you might find fun:
